The Dearborn Academy

The Dearborn Academy Pre K/Early Childhood Education Program has been awarded the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) grant from the Michigan Department of Education.

The program was designed to provide high-quality preschool to children and families who meet eligibility requirements.

The GSRP is Michigan's state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children with life factors which may place them at risk for educational failure. Research indicates that children provided with high-quality preschool experience show significant positive developmental differences when compared to children with the same backgrounds who did not attend a high-quality program. To strengthen learning at home and strengthen positive child outcomes, the program provides for active and continuous involvement of families in the learning process.

Program enrollment is dependent upon Michigan Department of Education funding. Application acceptance will begin March 6th, 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.GSRP is free based on income eligibility designated by the State of Michigan. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its COVID-19 Guidance for Operating Early Care and Education/Child Care Programs.

The Dearborn Academy Pre K/GSRP program is full for the 20-21 school year. You may still apply to be on the wait list, and if an opening occurs you will be notified in order of GSRP enrollment standards.
